Traditional Illustrations; It All Begins Here
I've been drawing ever since I was old enough to chew on a crayon, which explains a lot, and I’ve been lucky enough to be paid to do so for more than 40 years. Most of my illustrations originate with a rough initial sketch and then proceed into either traditional or digital mediums depending on the end use for the image.
I am equally comfortable drawing by hand, mouse, or stylus and have found that I really have no preference and tend to use whatever is at hand. Sometimes I'll design an image to be done traditionally only to rework the image in a digital format. Below you'll find some of my traditional illustrations including pen and pencil sketches, coloured pencil portraits, oil paintings, and a digitally coloured book cover. If you're more interested in seeing something in a digital format then click on over to my Digital Illustrations page.
